Bold Italic EM Not much is known of Christine�s life as a human before she became a mermaid. All that is known is one day Christine was walking along the beach when she heard a song coming across the waves. Christine didn�t know why, but she was drawn to it and started walking into the ocean fully clothed and farther away she thought she saw someone in the water beckoning her. She kept on walking even though she didn�t know how to swim. The water was up to her neck when the head disappeared from view and the singing stopped.

Now with the entrancing voice out of her head Christine regained sanity and realized she had wandered out too far with no chance of getting back. She started getting frantic and then something or someone grabbed her and drew her underwater. Christine, afraid of drowning thought she heard someone tell her she would be safe, and then she passed out.

She came to imprisoned in a cage deep under the water. Christine was afraid and realized that she was breathing underwater with no problem. She saw something though that she couldn�t believe. There were some men nearby staring at her, but they had no legs. They had fish tails.

Christine thought this queer until she looked down at her own body and realized her own legs had gone and she had grown her own tail as well. Then a girl came over to the cage. She was very pretty and like the men she had a tail.

She told Christine that she was now a memaid and would be let out of the cage and live under the sea with her and all the merpeople forever. Christine�s memory of her life above sea faded quickly and she accepted the merfolk with open arms.

Christine loves her life as a mermaid. She cares for all the merfolk and the creatures of the sea. She doesn�t care much for many humans especially those who hunt the endangered creatures of the sea she loves so much. She likes to lure men off boats sometimes with a promise of a kiss, but she either plays with them or eats them depending on her mood. She can be vicious to her enemies, but generous to her friends. She spends most of the time exploring sunken ships and collecting treasure and precious gems which she calls "shinies.
